Rules used: 1 hour = 60 minutes = 3,600 seconds; decimal hours = minutes ÷ 60 · Updated Oct 21, 2026

Add up a list of times — shifts, lap times, video clips — or subtract one. Type 7:45, 7h45, 45m or 1:30:15; the total carries minutes over 60 for you.

How to use the Add Time Calculator

  1. Type one time per line (7:45, 90m, 1:30:15).
  2. Use − on a line to subtract it.
  3. Add more lines with Add a line; the total updates as you type.

How to add hours and minutes

Add the hours and the minutes separately, then turn every 60 minutes into an hour. 7:45 + 8:30 + 6:50 = 21 hours 125 minutes = 23:05.

To subtract, borrow an hour when the minutes would go below zero: 8:15 − 0:45 = 7:75 − 0:45 = 7:30.

Hours and minutes calculator for timesheets

Adding a week of daily totals is the most common use. If you have clock-in and clock-out times instead of totals, the time card calculator does the subtraction for you.

Yes: type 1:30:15 or 1h 30m 15s and the result shows seconds too.
